Lebanon Day - Flag Raising and Honoring 1980's Beirut Vets ceremonies - Sun. June 30th


You are invited to attend the 15th Annual Lebanon American Day which will take place at 12:00 PM on Sunday June 30th beginning with a Flag Raising Ceremony at Danbury City Hall located at 155 Deer Hill Avenue in DanburyConnecticut.  Lebanon American Club officers, and members will be joined by NY Consul General of Lebanon Majdi Ramadan,  Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, Commissioner of CT Veterans Affairs Thomas Saadi and other local, State and Federal Officials to recognize the contributions of the Lebanese-American community to greater Danbury and to recognize U.S. Service members who served in Lebanon in the 1980s as part of the Multinational Peace Keeping Force.  

The Veterans being honored will be presented with certificates of special recognition from the Department of Veterans Affairs, City of Danbury and the Lebanon American Club.  The Consul General will also make a special presentation on behalf of the Lebanese government.

Following the ceremonies, there will be a traditional Lebanese Luncheon at the Lebanon American Club located at 22 West Street in Danbury.  The menu is Kibbee Nay, Chicken and Rice, Hummus with Salad (cost $30, or $15 for children under 10 years). Reservations and prepayment required for luncheon.
